I strongly feel that making a perfect cup of chai is not easy. Though you may have a good recipe but somehow the taste of your chai will get influenced by your present state of mind. Hence, brewing a perfect cup of chai can only happen when your mind is calm and happy. Not everyday your chai will taste the same with the same ingredients and the same recipe. Isn’t it? So, its needless to say I am a CHAI LOVER and thanks to my husband for spoiling me with the best ginger cardamom tea I have ever tasted till date.
Here is the recipe of how to make a perfect GINGER CARDAMOM TEA (Adrak Elaichi Chai). Enjoy adrak elaichi wali chai with breakfast or evening snacks or just like that on a rainy day or winter morning.
HOW TO MAKE ADRAK ELAICHI CHAI (STEP BY STEP RECIPE)
- For making 2 cups of adrak elaichi chai, we will take 1 cup of milk and 1 full cup of water. Keep stirring the milk intermittently so that it does not stick to the bottom of the saucepan. Bring the milk to full boil.
2. When the milk starts boiling then add 1 tbsp of grated Ginger and boil with the milk for 2 minutes. You may add ginger as per your taste. Next, add sugar as per your taste, here I am using 2 tsp of sugar for 2 cups of tea. Boil the milk for a minute till the sugar dissolves completely. You may also skip the sugar but if you are putting jaggery in the chai then add it at the end.
3. Add 2 tbsp of Chai or CTC Tea of any brand like Tata Tea, Red label or Wagh Bakri and simmer the chai on low heat till we get a nice brown color as shown in the image.
4. Next, take 4 to 5 green cardamoms and crush into a coarse powder which will be around 1 tsp of cardamom powder. Add the freshly prepared cardamom powder to the adrak chai and brew it for a minute. The flavor of cardamom will be infused in the chai and kadak adrak elaichi wali chai is ready!!
Strain the ginger cardamom tea and serve with cookies or biscuits.
